Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is it possible to apply as a bachelor or master student?

Of course! All students at Nova SBE can join oikos, from all academic programs.

What are the requirements to apply?

Interest in sustainability in business practices and in economics. Candidates must have the motivation, reliability, transparency and willingness to learn new things needed to become an oikee!

Can I join oikos for only one semester, or go on an exchange during the year?

You can join as a team member for only one semester, but please be open about that in the interview, as some projects highly benefit from the members staying for at least one year.

How can oikos benefit my future career?

oikos is the chance to gain hands-on experience in any position you take. If you join as a team member, you can choose a position according to your interest (Consulting, Marketing content creation, Event Planning, Corporate partnerships management, Articles for your portfolio, etc) and directly apply concepts you have learned with a lot of freedom. You also have access to the oikos Lisbon Alumni Network, and we often promote events for current and previous oikees to meet and network.

What is the average workload for oikos members?

The workload depends on the position that you are applying for. As a team member at one of oikos’ projects the workload is expected to be between 1-3 hours per week. As a team leader it is 5-6 hours and as a board member it is 7-9 hours.
